Your Way Through a City of Your Choosing during the Virtual Rose Bowl Turkey Trot!
We're back for the 3rd annual Rose Bowl Turkey Trot in a new COVID-19 safe virtual format!
The 3rd annual Rose Bowl Turkey trot just got bigger by taking on the world and coming to your city, virtually! Due to COVID-19, this Pasadena family tradition is pivoting from its typical 5K trot around the stadium on Thanksgiving morning and allowing anyone to participate no matter where they are, by sharing in this year's virtual format. Runners, trotters, skippers and jumpers can continue the tradition from the comfort and safety of their favorite running path! Participants will be given a window to join in on the fun by racing between Wednesday, November 25th at 6:00AM and Friday, November 27th at 8:00PM. All entry fees for 2020 are tax-deductible and go directly to the Rose Bowl Legacy Foundation’s America’s Stadium Needs America Campaign. Trot before you gobble and help preserve, protect and enhance the Rose Bowl Stadium! To learn more about the Rose Bowl Legacy Foundation, and its America’s Stadium Needs America Campaign, click here.
Know your pace and strategize your race by downloading the RaceJoy app here. By using the app, runners will get progress alerts at every mile, can submit their race results and even their friends and family can cheer them on by following their route from home. Included in the registration participants will get access to the app with timed results, will receive a virtual goodie bag, a print-at-home runner bib and custom photo borders to share their journey. To commemorate their run, purchasers can upgrade their ticket to add on a 2020 Rose Bowl Turkey Trot T-Shirt.
But wait, it doesn’t stop there. In the spirit of the Thanksgiving holiday and in partnership with Union Station Homeless Services, purchasers will be offered the opportunity to make a donation of their choice to feeding our local community in need. Donations will go to purchasing food items to help Union Station Homeless Services celebrate its 50th Anniversary of Dinner in the Park, an incredible community event that has provided thousands of holiday meals and hope. Due to COVID restrictions, the event format has been changed to be held in three ways -- complete takeaway meals for families and individuals to heat up at home, “All the Fixings” Meal Kits for those who would like to cook their own Thanksgiving Dinner, and private sit-down dinners at their Bridge Housing facilities on Thanksgiving Day. While this year's celebration is unique, the importance is the same to feed those in need with a full holiday meal.
Don’t forget to post photos of your trot and tag @rosebowlstadium and @rosebowllegacy using the hashtag #MemoriesMakeUs #RoseBowlTurkeyTrot
